Going
over the top is not something you want to do - if you want to look slim in your
saree. The eye-catching, especially if it falls on trouble spots is a No - No. Plain georgette
saree, crepe or crepe chine fabric with two inches (or slightly more) wide
border running go for the best look.
Avoid
saree with dense or huge print, overly ornate embellishment, wide borders or
too jarring color. Stick to smaller, scattered print, spread - out. Also, avoid
horizontal stripe or pattern, multi colored stripes and wide checkered patterned
strips. Many kanjeevaram saree has these
patterns, now they also come in narrower border and more balanced designs.
Choose one from our kanjeevaram sarees collections online USA.
Wide
borders are woven or embellished, should be severely avoided as they also
visually "cut" the height (thus, adding to the circumference). If you
have broad arms or shoulders or chest, avoid sarees that have embellishments on
pallu or pallavi, especially that decoration is based on the chest area or
shoulder. Ones with large embroidery design, crystal, stone, lace, zari and
pallu extremely heavy should also be avoided. If you have a bulky mid riff, patli pallu Indian saree (where the
folds have exactly the same design or beautification as pallu) is not for you!
